That is not what I danced with tonight.
Quick back story:
I haven’t written in Tumblr in a while, and I didn’t think anyone noticed, but was poked and prodded to get back at it…
At the current moment, I’m sleeping on a stranger’s couch in Harrisburg, PA. Yet, I don’t feel as if I’m in a stranger’s house. I met Brian via couchsurfing, and he was kind enough to let me stay at his house for the weekend. We’ve eaten giant burritos, and he bought be a beer, so I suppose we’ve moved beyond the “stranger” state.
Earlier today I attended the first day of the Millennium Music Conference, meeting people, listening to keynote speakers, and playing cigar-box guitars.
This evening I went to a few different venues around the city and listened to artists who are attending the conference. There was a pretty sweet bluegrass band at the Appalachian Brewing Co. (a very cool place in itself!). I had made acquaintances with a couple of guys (Shaun, Corey, and Josh) of the band Instead of Sleeping, and they landed an acoustic gig at the OTHER Appalachian Brewery (little confusing), so I ran over there and caught their last song. I’m so glad I did actually go attempt to see them, because by the end of the night it seemed as if we were the best of friends (aww).
But you must understand, to go through what we went through would cause a certain bond between anyone.
Her name is April, and she is a cougar (not by Alex’s terms…), and she was on the hunt for prey. We were that prey.

That is not what I danced with tonight.
